This year’s conference, New Perspectives, Best Practices, will feature livestreaming presentations* from the NYG&B headquarters in New York City as well as additional on-demand sessions for all conference registrants. Whether you are just starting to build up your genealogy skills or are ready to tackle more advanced issues in your search, you will learn from the experts and connect with others in the field. Session topics will cover crucial resources like New York records and repositories; methodology; migration and settlement; immigration and immigrant communities; New Yorkers of color and others whose stories have been historically underrepresented; and much more.

By registering for and attending the 2026 New York State Family History Conference, participants acknowledge that they attend voluntarily and agree to release and hold harmless the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, conference organizers, and their affiliates, employees, officers, members, volunteers, and agents from any liability related to participation in conference activities.

Cancellations: Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by August 1, 2026. Approved refunds will be issued less a $50 service fee. No refunds will be issued within 30 days of the event, and registrations are non-transferable and non-shareable.

Photography and Recording: Photographs and video recordings may be taken during the conference. By attending, participants grant permission for the NYG&B to use these materials for promotional and educational purposes.
