On October 9, 1825, The Restauration, a slooper from Norway, arrived on the shores of New York with passengers looking for religious freedom and opportunity. This presentation will look at the event of their New York landing, what "The Sloopers" were escaping from in Norway, and what became of the Norwegians in America centuries later, using genealogical tools to trace their ancestors.
